Built by someone who's been there.

Why a 20-year Air Force veteran built a beard-highlighting shield.

The Story Behind the Product

Born in Illinois. Raised in Mississippi. Twenty years in the United States Air Force.

When I left the service, I wanted to dye my beard. Not for anyone else, but to express myself the way I'd wanted to for two decades. I applied hair-color chemicals directly to my beard and the skin underneath.

I suffered severe chemical burns. That experience changed how I thought about coloring facial hair.

It also gave me an idea: a tool that separates small sections of beard hair, with a barrier between the color and the surrounding skin.

That idea became BlendMill. The shield is designed to follow the shape of a beard or mustache and let you pull selected strands through small openings. The goal is more control over where you apply color, not a promise that coloring is risk-free.

BlendMill is a house of the Mulini Empire - built to help men highlight, color, and blend gray with attention to detail.
